It's genuinely confusing why, over and over again, organizations that cater to, or are dependent upon, artists writers and creators decide to absolutely fucking enrage their constituency with "AI," only to be required to backtrack after considerable loss of goodwill

Fictional characters aren’t interesting in and of themselves. What makes them interesting is what’s on the page. Or stage, or screen, or whatever.
If you want an audience to find the characters you’re portraying interesting, you have to put what’s interesting about them into your portrayal.

A friend once told me he crunched from the time his daughter was born until she was 12. He took a new job so he could spend the next 5 years building a relationship with her.

You don’t understand, we gotta burn out senior experienced devs, so we can keep having the same 5 discourses on a loop. There is a very real risk that if we treat people with respect and manage them well that we might have to stop re-debating basic terminology and practices.

One of my favorite things about Outer Worlds 2 is that it is not just a bleak look at capitalism but a bleak look at any society led by a charismatic dictator, and how the principles underlying these disasters (community, freedom, knowledge) can be beautiful if they stay in touch with the people.

I ate a piece of watermelon and my body forgot how to breathe for a full thirty seconds. Some increased mortality salience after that one.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.
