Horror loving mom. Author of that mothman book, BELOW. Also WHISPERS IN THE DARK, CROSSROADS, EVERY WOMAN KNOWS THIS, SILENT KEY, SPIRIT COVEN, and THE DAY OF THE DOOR
If you have MAGA friends or followers. If you interact with and allow people who cheer state sanctioned murder & cruelty. Fucking why? Do you understand they'll snitch on you? That people seeing their vitriol in ur comments and you allowing it means they feel less safe? The line is drawn. Get away.

Don't take doom from our struggle, take *hope*
I’m watching friends succumb to doom watching what’s happening in Minnesota and I want to shake them and scream “Can’t you see the people organizing? Can’t you see them winning?”. Doom is a warm blanket of helplessness that keeps you from the fight.
doom is cope, everybody's saying it

My novel about systematic evil & the need for regular people to team up & fight it is now available in the UK.

Sadly, some themes never go out of style.

THE DEVIL IN SILVER.

With a gorgeous cover and a wonderful introduction from the great @sgj.bsky.social

God I love this book. If you're mad, this'll hit the spot
It's Friday, and I should probably be promoting my new collection... but I'm simmering with rage, so instead, here's Hummingbird

It's small-town Salem's Lot-style horror. It's also the angriest bit of Queer As In Fuck You I've written yet 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🔥

I got to read this one early and loved it - short and brutal, with @frank212.bsky.social 's brand of gritty empathy. Give it a read!
I have a new short story out today (first story of 2026) in @mrbullbull.bsky.social

THE LORD and FATHER MURRAY.

It's a shorter story: a guy thinks back on his life one evening, the regrets & about trying to go straight in a bad economy, 1979.

Not going back to Spotify bc the only reason they aren’t running ICE ads is because the campaign ended. Meaning if the government did another campaign, Spotify has no issue putting the ads back on. Continue cancel Spotify.
Spotify no longer running ICE recruitment ads, after US government campaign ends
The ad campaign ended in late 2025, the Swedish streaming giant confirmed, having previously said, despite protests, that it did not violate advertising policies

Remember that people who support these human rights violations and atrocities will absolutely employ abuser tactics. Your anger and pain and sense of deep injustice are symptomatic of empathy and humanity. 1/

Write a poem today for her.

Fill it with rage.

Fill it with defiance.

Fill it with grief.

There will never be enough words, but a poem can hold it somehow. A paradox, a fold in time, a miracle of expression.

Write a poem today.

For her.

A big thank you to Haley Newlin and Cemetery Dance for this review and interview! I'd love you to give it a read!
Head over to Cemetery Dance for a new review of @laurelhightower.bsky.social's KVHS book THE LONG LOW WHISTLE.

"...gory, claustrophobic, and probably the most terrifying book you’ll read all year."

And an interview with Laurel about cryptids and grief horror!

Fell down a single stupid step at the beginning of lockdown. Sprained ankle the size of a cantaloupe.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.
