i think what we see happening with LLMs is a very clear demonstration of this, really. they produce text that's similar but doesn't mean the same thing, or that looks plausible but doesn't make sense. and sometimes people read into it meaning that isn't there. because people make meaning

ICE agents get a name back from face recognition and multiple agents start calling out "Maria! Maria!" to see if a woman in custody reacts. (Presumably if she does that's a match???)
