The media should cover sport the way they cover the state murder of civilians:

‘Jannik Sinner appeared to win the French Open yesterday after what supporters say was a comeback from being two sets down.’

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

OK so in 1992 a girl I know went with her brother to Lepre-con and she was one of the only girls there. The shy nerdy boys acted like she was the goddess Aphrodite and it did wonders for her self-confidence. Then one boy approached her with a figurine and said "I have painted you an orc".

“10s of thousands have died or suffered abject ruination in the service of a few glossy pictures. The shambolic project that killed or ruined them was made possible not only by a seemingly bottomless supply of oil money, but by the borrowed prestige of some of the West’s leading architecture firms”
The Line, a Saudi Megaproject, Is Dead
It was always doomed to unravel, but the firms who lent their name to this folly should be held accountable.

The artist of these Grange Hill comic strips seems familiar but I can't place them and there's nothing online about it. ARRGHH! Seems a bit Steve Dillon-esque. 🤔

A problem with appeasement is the people doing it see it as a neutral act. "We'll just appease him until it doesn't work", as if things stand still in the meantime. But every little act of appeasement makes things worse. He's demanding Greenland cause he's been appeased into believing it's possible
