Higgins Boys and Gruber was great TV. Early on, when it was Comedy Channel they used to show Sid Caesar, Steve Allen and Ernie Kovacs. I wish TV had more of that, though there is YouTube now.
I've often compared early comedy channel's weekday lineup to an FM radio station (daily shows like Higgins Boys and Gruber, etc). Mystery Science Theater 3000 (a weekend show) was the King Biscuit Flower Hour.
There’s definitely a “Live From New York”-style oral history to be done about Comedy Central. Shows with outsized influence (not just TDS but Bill Maher’s “Politically Incorrect” started there), cult hits it made mainstream (MST3K), the standup->special->series pipeline that created superstars…

I need everyone to know that on the crochet subreddit the mods made a big post about how they're taking a week off because there was too much fighting/political posts. so there's currently no mods on r/crochet and people are being absolutely insane

They won’t stop, nor will they be stopped. The only solution is to show up in numbers Big enough to moot their un-American efforts.
After Trump's lies about 2020 election, Georgia Republicans ousted Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger as chair & voting member of state election board. MAGA election deniers took control of board. Now those Trump-allied Republicans could seize control of voting in GA's biggest Dem stronghold
Trump wants to take over voting in at least 15 places

FBI raid in Fulton County GA now fueling MAGA calls for election takeover there

That would allow them to purge voters, cut polling places, limit early voting & challenge election results. Very scary for 2026

What the living hell is his blasphemer talking about? It’s not delusion. It’s lying.
Paula White-Cain at the Natl Prayer Breakfast: "We give thanks for a president who understands that faith is not a private afterthought but a public good. A president who is not merely spoken about faith, but has acted to protect it ... I've seen his compassion when no one is looking."

With the way tear gas and concussion grenades are liberally used by DHS, why would anyone bring a child to a protest? Your kid doesn’t have to inhale irritants to learn a civic lesson.

Clout-chasing pseudo-journalists really need to knock it off with posting old videos without acknowledging when they're from. When people see posts like this, the assumption is that this happened today/yesterday/this week.

This video is from September. Do better, @onestpress.onestnetwork.com

Thin spaghetti with olive oil, salt, pepper, TJ's 21 seasoning salute. Parm. Along with bread and butter. Gluten isn’t my friend, but the thin spaghetti is manageable. Pasta is cheap. Learn to use it.
I dunno, man, I think making spaghetti from affordable components is pretty much the same process now as it was in 1985.

If you're spending at least 20 percent of your salary on *delivered* food, maybe affordability isn't the main issue.

If he does this, and isn't impeached and removed, it's a Rubicon moment where we are no longer a republic. Sorry, I don't care how much Republicans like his policies or fear his wrath, you can't just let a president cut checks to himself from the Treasury.
Trump on his multiple suits against the federal government: "I'm supposed to work out a settlement with myself ... We could make it a substantial amount, nobody would care, because it's gonna go to numerous, very good charities."
