Trump might try to send in the army, but frankly, at this point (assuming they aren't willing to wholesale murder large numbers of Minnesotans), I think we'd overcome them too.
After ICE agents shot people in Minneapolis tonight, a crowd faced them down and eventually chased them away, despite federal mercenaries and police shooting a tremendous amount of tear gas.

yeah he also said he’d end homelessness in 5 years if he got elected. jacob says a lot of things. we finally found the clip of him actually saying that, it did nothing to impact his race. maybe the national audience can have fun with this but locally it just feels weary catching him in another lie
So, among the the things I got to help with in law school at UMN was putting together questions for a Minneapolis Mayoral Candidate forum in 2017. We made sure to have a question about sanctuary cities, and guess what Jacob Frey said?

We’ve been on the scene all night in North Minneapolis. While we don’t know all the details, we know that ICE shot another person in our City. We also believe a family is still trapped inside and hasn’t been able to talk to anyone, including an attorney.

Folks in the US still like to treat the whole Greenland invasion stuff as sufficiently unserious to engage with, but it is sufficiently serious that NATO allies are actively deploying tripwire forces to deter the US. That is *already* a political and actual cost to them, and to US relationships
