Nothing super special about it but always gotta get エビチリ while in Japan because it’s the one type of Chinese food you can’t really find in the US. (At far as I know at least)

Btw I do like to emphasize this was probably foreseen by LDP elders. They aren’t stupid. While Komeito has been a reliable coalition partner I feel like this is almost a calculated move to breathe into like new alliances (Ishin?)

This is a big part of why I found a lot of the dooming over Takaichi to be so silly. She is deeply unpopular on her right flank and most likely would never have a strong enough mandate to do anything.

I go back and forth this. Is this really a structural issue? The legal avenues for removal still exists, it’s that the GOP is in complete thrall to Trump in a way that hasn’t happened even in party-centric Westminster systems where they theoretically have more control over MPs than US parties.

I’m very poor-person coded because of my upbringing but obviously being in the US has put me at a high economic status.

And yet when I stay at these nice hotels in Japan you can feel the disrespect because I don’t wear brand-name clothing or have expensive hats.

Not a thing in the US, really.

Huh an aspect of American culture that I don’t want to let go of.

I think it’s how America is relatively less hierarchal than Japan. We don’t judge (not as much at least) based on who’s from a “good” family.
