My book is about drug addiction in the U.S. from 1776 to 1914, when it was (generally) legal to sell addictive drugs. Addiction increased rapidly, but people didn't associate drug addiction with crime. global.oup.com/ushe/product...

It's Black Friday. You might as well pre-order the first mainstream published version of the Church Committee Report. Abridged to its most essential findings, this 1975 report reads like the very best investigative journalism mixed with a spy novel covering assassinations, surveillance, sabotage.

Just to be clear: armed government agents are allowed to wear masks, balaclavas, and glasses that completely hide their identities as they disappear people off streets and out of public places, but students can't wear masks while protesting even in approved "time, manner, and place".

This is an unambiguous call for ethnic cleansing. No pretense of “legal” vs “illegal” migration, and no pretending that it will be nonviolent. If the President can write this and it’s gone in one news cycle and Congress doesn’t remove him, an attempt at genocide is inevitable.
Trump: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries … denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.“

The nineteenth and twentieth century eugenicists and white nationalists who wanted the US to be a White Protestant and Western European nation would have made the same argument about Jewish migrants. And southern and Eastern European migrants.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

As @letsgomathias.bsky.social reported, "remigration" has been used by white supremacists as "a euphemism for ethnically cleansing non-white people from Western countries." The GOP is "sourcing many of its talking points and policy ideas directly from neo-fascists."

A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.
