CNBC: My understanding is the White House said that China was gonna buy 12 million tons of soybeans from the US by January. That's approaching and they've only purchased 332,000. China has not confirmed that pledge.

Maybe I’m splitting hairs but what irritates me about this is the intentional implication that “our leaders” (ie dem leadership) can “convict and remove” and just don’t want to. Calling for impeachment is good! Acting like removal is up to us is dumb bullshit.

These are exactly the kind of rw ratfucking talking points that plagued Clinton, Biden, and Harris, and they all got nominated anyway. (And Clinton and Harris then lost the generals because they were perceived as too far left of the public. If anything this argument boosts the case for Kelly.)

I’m aware that cost-of-living measures are a normal thing - I’ve worked on them too - but saying “Whoa! What if the REAL poverty line was $136k?? This changes everything” is just sort of absurdly disconnected from how most Americans live

im sure i can be credibly accused of libbing out here, but my general impression with people taking these sorts of jobs is they usually spend the vast bulk of their time doing them. it's a 4-year gig at best. how do you justify to yourself going to ufc and concerts all the time on taxpayers' dimes?
