Yes, THAT OsakaJack.
US immigrant living in Japan.
It’s an easy thing to take for granted, but getting kids to say this about themselves, even parroting it, is so important.
It may very well be the first time in their lives an adult has told them they matter.
Jesse Jackson on Sesame Street. “I am somebody.”

As a young kid, my first exposure to Jesse Jackson was him reading a tribute to Dr. Seuss on Saturday Night Live.

This is the thing I think trolls, etc don't understand: Once I block you I literally never think about you again. Shit, five minutes after I block someone I don't remember who they are or why I blocked them. They simply and literally don't exist for me anymore. If this is a victory for you, fine.
Some of y’all must have a blocking kink. It’s weird — you’re intentionally rude, obstinate or worse — in my replies as it daring me to block you as it gains you something. I won’t remember two minutes from now.

THIS. There's a few peeps I -used- to be friends with who use genAI. Past Tense.

If you use genAI to create "art" for you, you are my enemy. Full stop. Not just because it was never -yours- in the first place, but because you actively harm one of the most important things we have left!

just going to "reiterate" that "carpetbagger" was literally a white supremacist slur developed after the civil war to justify violence against people who came south to help develop multi racial democracy. 1

Me, with three kids, wanting to make eggs for breakfast:

“This is why single men who haven’t been parents should shut the fuck up about economics”

Eggs for breakfast for my family is a full dozen eggs. 2+2+3+3+2.
If you're eating one egg a day, a 2% increase in egg costs raises your egg spending by about two dollars annually. You'd notice this?

yeah anyone who thinks this is a great idea wants a five year old victim to have to choose if they want their relative to die
As a child protection professional, I can tell you the death penalty is NOT an awesome solution to child sexual abuse. Most children are abused by family members; they will not report if their family members will die as a result.

It happened again.

This time it's @dailykos.com who is publishing a plagiarized AI-generated slop version of my work, brazenly right down to the title, "A Field Guide to Japanese Yokai" which is lifted directly from my book "The Night Parade of One Hundred Demons: A Field Guide to Japanese Yokai."
