Giving social media another spin.

Big ol' nerd, particularly for Transformers, Persona, and Like a Dragon/Yakuza.
Okay, G.I Joe, this is a great villain. Keep bringing more of this energy here, and you'll get your place back in the larger public consciousness.

(Sure would have been nice if we got some bio cards for The Thirteen Primes whom the lay audience know nothing about.)
So to make this toy even better, we now know this guy's real name is Crispin Killgore and he's a wealthy South African who wanted to own a real dinosaur ever since he was a spoiled little brat, and works with Cobra exclusively because they were willing to fund his sketchy cloning project.

Seriously. Imagine you were the head of Amazon and you learned your scheduling was so tight, drivers were pissing in water bottles. I don’t care how mercenary you are, any normal human being would think “that’s a problem we need to address” not “fuck em”.
One of the great myths of our society is that really rich people are rich because they are smart.

They are not rich because they are smart.

They are rich because are broken. Because nothing matters more to them than hording wealth. Because they lack morality, empathy, and social responsibility.
It’s also virtually impossible to become a billionaire without choosing immorality many, many times.

US Troops killed all the guards at Dachau for this kind of shit.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.

Every new piece of information I find out about 'Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties' and what's been changed/omitted just makes me feel more disappointed in it.
Komaki was narratively important to Kiryu's growth and development, WHAT ARE THEY DOING
Not having Komaki in this game so a celebrity actor can teach Kiryu the tiger drop is so bleak man

This is bleak: Jes Staley, currently CEO of Barclays, reassuring Epstein that popular revolt against financial elites is unlikely because capitalism and pop culture have defanged social movements, leaving people more invested in consumption than justice.

Fascism cannot produce art that lives because living art relies on unqualified engagement with an other, a challenge to the self. Fascism can only ever conjure an ever more atrociously gilded mirror reflecting back faces that refuse even the realities of time.

"Suddenly I have a refreshing mint flavour" is a line that I like to use and paraphrase when the opportunity is right.

No one gets that it's a MST3K line, but it amuses me and that's what counts.
Does anyone else have an MST3K line they use regularly, even if it makes no sense out of context?

Because I have both "That'll keep your panfish down for a while." and "Come come, boys, we must confound Jerry at every turn!" from MST3K the movie alone.

So this remake really has nothing to say then.

Having played the remaster last summer, the side story of Kiryu emphasising and supporting a trans woman at a bar was wholesome, insightful, and progressive (especially from 2009). Cutting that from the remake amidst the current climate is shameful.
A really excellent, detailed review, that's more explicit about just how much stuff *hasn't* made it into this remake - including the Murder at Cafe Alps sidestory, as well as the sidestory where Kiryu emphasises with a transwoman's struggles
Review: Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is a remake built on disdain, not reverence, looking to fix a game that wasn’t broken, and ending up with little to show for itself.

Working from home today in general silence and then all of a sudden, I hear a loud buzzing sound from the landing as a wasp flies into the office room, before turning around and flying back out.

The wasp ultimately came to a rest on the front door, so I opened it and the wasp just flew away. Huh.

Embarrassing to see adults talk to robots in a public forum. That'd be like if your friend asked a mailbox for directions once. You'd roast him for decades for that shit. Every time the concept of navigating space came up you'd hit him with "Why don't you ask the mailbox?"

This is an amazing idea, I'll tell you hwhat.

I'd like to imagine a world where it was 'King of the Hill' that had a vast library of video game titles:

• Hank Hill's Lawn Management
• Lawn Mower Grand Prix
• Peggy Hill's Cooking Mama
• Bobby Hill Beats Up Arlen
• Dale's Bug Hunt
• Pro-Pain! Online
D'you ever get a stupid idea in your head and then you can't do anything else until you get it out? 🎣

Exactly—people need to understand the implicit threat here, especially given that we live in a society where we’re regularly told that unhoused, disabled, or out-of-work people don’t deserve to live.

Filth, illness, medical abuse—her child has lasting complications from being injured by a staff member.

We don't know the half of what's happening in the camps, but we know enough.
