Making capitalists “pay their fair share into society” means all of it. They do not produce. They own. Their fair share is nothing. Labor is entitled to all it creates. It’s important we understand this.

Funniest part is that if this pile of shite ever does become combat ready it will already be obsolete in a new landscape dominated by drone warfare.

Note how these awful people are getting exactly the exclusions of children that they demanded and *that still isn’t enough for them*: they demand everyone be delighted about it and kiss their arses for being brilliant.

In November an 18 month investigation into ADHD concluded.

It found ADHD is massively underdiagnosed with less than 1 in 20 people over 40 receiving treatment.

It said GPs need to be diagnosing it.

Instead a review has been launched looking into it being 'overdiagnosed'

Wait. People think there will be *consequences* for what the US are up to? What exactly are they basing that idea on?
whether hegseth gets away with it remains to be seen but it is interesting to see that he thought trump handed him a license to murder with this job, no questions asked, and now questions are definitely being asked.

Like, I'm sorry the fascists are giving you difficult choices. But that's what fascists fucking do. The only legit answer is "fuck you make me". The only answer that shows you have actual fucking principles not preferences is "fuck you make me". And that sucks. But here we are.

uk government just made it illegal to glance at a lighthouse.
I'd hate to be a boat owner after this passes.

Imagine all the information that could be be useful for your navigation but which would ALSO be potentially useful to those guiding small boats across the Channel.

Will the Shipping Forecast cease broadcasting? That, after all, makes crossings easier.

There is absolutely nothing left to the UK but bigotry and spite. A hateful place, you can almost taste it in the air, makes it hard to breathe.

this is, again, a case of someone who has not done any kind of real work in decades (maybe ever, she has a degree in political science and has been doing HR her entire career) who think the bullshit they sleepwalk through every day is work and don't understand why real human beings get tired by it

This is actually pretty damn good. Just the right level of *ever so slightly* cringey humour, but it works, and there's a heart-tugging poignancy to the final line (literally, an expression of hope), that I suspect will be rewarded with a response from people. Well done to whoever is behind this.
Hope is here.

Death Stranding: Hey! So, uhhh, remember how you spent hours and hours of real time carefully constructing a network of ziplines, bridges, ladders and climbing ropes? Yeeeeeeah, that's all gone now. Why? Storyline, innit?

The thing is we've known that housing the homeless is cheaper than neglect, we've known that Ubi is effective at eliminating poverty, we've known that heavily subsidized housing and education leads people into the middle class, we've known all of these things in some cases for 70 years.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

It costs a lot less to house people.
Finland ends homelessness and provides shelter for all in need - scoop.me
In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Why? The country applies the "Housing First" concept agains homelessness.
