It really can't be said enough: the goal of the "anti-woke" movement was always to destroy social norms against bigotry. And it worked. And there's a whole lot of purportedly "left" thinkers & commentators who helped it -- indeed, it couldn't have been done without them.

On a daily basis, I marvel at how many people in putative positions of power are willing to help obliterate American democracy. The US has faced a series of very easy moral tests in the past decade and it’s staggering how often people in once-respected positions have failed.

You aren't fighting for his base, you're fighting for the loosely attached folks who are why you won by 5 in 2020 but lost by 1.5 in 2024.

Like, I can't stress enough: the country is not 50% MAGA base and 50% progressive - there are a lot of 'persuadables' and you need them angry at Trump.

Gov. Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma, a Republican and the chairman of the National Governors Association, on Thursday criticized the deployment of Texas National Guard troops to Illinois as a violation of his beliefs in federalism and “states’ rights.”

His comments, in an interview with The New York Times, marked the first time a Republican governor has questioned the interstate deployment of National Guard troops over a governor’s objections. Gov. JB Pritzker of Illinois and other Democratic elected officials have been strongly critical of the move and have implored Republican governors to join the opposition.

Mr. Stitt on Thursday said, “We believe in the federalist system — that’s states’ rights,” adding, “Oklahomans would lose their mind if Pritzker in Illinois sent troops down to Oklahoma during the Biden administration.”

for example, some of the accounts that constantly sneer down their noses at republicans, writ large, want people in information silos where they think everyone else is an actual monster. who benefits from that?? not democrats. not america

i love taylor swift. i have listened to one or two of the new songs (neither one did anything for me fwiw). i feel neither anxious to hear the rest nor concerned they may all suck. there’s no need to get weird out there, my loves. we don’t have to justify our faves

Saying someone is a "member of antifa" is like saying someone is a "member of socialism" or something. it makes zero sense. But they can't use the ideological form of the word because it makes it too clear what the ideology actually is and it would include our grandpas
