I truly believe that we won't be able to fix the economy until we can get both workers and bosses to understand that $100,000 is no longer rich person money. So many peoples' sense of economic awareness is based on the 90s/2000s and never seems to update.
Green wrote that he “felt sick” when he recently learned how HHS calculates the poverty line: three times the cost of food for a family in 1963, adjusted for inflation every year. (HHS cites it as roughly 32K rn.)

i was listening to a history podcast the other day and learned that the reason we have different words for cow/beef, pig/pork in English is because the English royal court was French and called the food by the French name, whereas the peasant class used the English word for the livestock.
