Republicans have voted to destroy the United States of America. The rest of us will not allow it. Resist fascism with joy, with anger, with humor, with spite, but however you need to do it: resist!

If you’re doing #Veganuary this month, or even just aiming to eat less meat, you might try plant-based alternatives. How are these made and how does chemistry improve their appearance and flavour?

Considering it's minus 23 degrees Celsius here this morning, the #BirdOfTheDay theme of #snowy bird captures is apt. I spent quite a lot of time lying on the frozen ground photographing this lovely Savannah Sparrow in the bright morning sunlight as it foraged for food.

Stop saying that all Schumer and Jeffries ever do is write strongly worded letters. Bullshit. They're not strongly worded at all.

Premee is a great writer even if I'm not allowed to read her stuff and the struggles of artists trying to make a living are so so real.

(Also I am now her PATRON which I believe means she will regularly attend at my VILLA to make me look cool in the neighbourhood and receive DIRECTIONS.)
UGH the unofficial 2025 roundup is live and free on my Patreon (p.s. thank you to my patrons, you do not know how many months of 2025 you literally kept the lights on) (it was not zero) (stupid bills)

This post is basically "GO TO THERAPY" "I KNOW"

Don't like my suggestions? Too bad. I'm not an elected official. I do not now and have never wanted power. I did not want to represent country. You did though. You wanted this responsibility. You wanted the power that you have. Now fucking use it while you still have it.

Discerning a sense of size from macro photographs is hard. Camponotus intrepidus, for example, is one of Australia’s largest sugar ants at slightly under an inch long.

But did you see the little Pheidole ant at her heels?

Fun fact: the US has been at continual war since 1945 and *not a single one of these wars*, from the Korean War to Vietnam to Iraq to Iraq again, was ever declared war by Congress.

The last time the US Congress declared war was 1942. 83 years ago.
A lot of people are talking about whether Trump is going to go to war with Iran but not enough people are talking about the fact that Trump has no legal authority to do so without Congressional authorization

The idea that you could be paying a monthly sub for something you don't remember is utterly foreign to me. I guess not everyone is as paranoid about money and budgeting as I am.
