I first watched this when I was 7 and became so obsessed that I started asking my mom for cappuccinos. She’d make me them (it was actually milky hot chocolate with whipped cream) as I rewatched this film over and over.
Wishing upon a star tonight.
...real ones know.

If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

"Christmas" is the Latino father brutally assaulted and kidnapped at his workplace by a gang of masked thugs wearing badges.

It is the third grader whose plate and belly are continually empty in a land of abundance...

I can't speak for what was said at the protests, but seeing people react to an anodyne statement like "sacred spaces should not be used to promote activities in violation of international law" as if it were a vicious slur is clarifying.
Zohran Mamdani chastised a Manhattan synagogue that hosted an event promoting migration to Israel and settlements in occupied territories. His stance further tested his strained relationship with pro-Israel Jews in New York.

New York City generates $1.3 TRILLION in economic activity every year.

Mamdani's agenda requires an additional $0.007 trillion annually be spent on child care, transit & affordable housing

If that looks like a rounding error, that's because it is.

Also, just LOOK at the energy Dawson brought to the role in that gif. Colman Domingo is sooooo cool and he has some amazing line deliveries, but because his gameshow host is not the primary antagonist, he's underutilized. He could have been so good in this role.

One more thing about The Running Man (the good one): Dawson's deeply unpleasant Killian who manages to riff and jive and come across as a saint and a star is exactly what people assume is the case for TV show hosts...and time has proved that assumption correct. Repeatedly. One of them is president.
It's the 1980s. It's Arnold. Arnold, apparently, hiring all the friends and acquaintances in the bodybuilding world he could convince the producers to get. Including Richard Dawson, a real life game show host who plays a version of himself through a mirror darkly. He's FANTASTIC, unsurprisingly.
