My parents bought in a 90s single family home development and my mom was complaining about the partially affordable housing development in their town that was in part replacing a mall that failed a decade ago!

I worked in the board office for a county level school, and the sheer amount of stuff shoved down by the state is immense, but barely ever checked on until the auditors happen to look into it every so many years.

It's a completely untenable system.

On a fundamental level, there are SO MANY different things the 590 operating school boards in NJ are REQUIRED to do while there's many RECOMMENDED things that they're asked to do that contradict the law, but are state policy, that it's impossible to know what to do for all of it.
