Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

Update: Despite the best efforts of the local prosecutor, Duncan is getting out as I type this.

Here’s a text from his aunt.

Lot of thoughts about That Article, but one thing that made me scream. The cost of childcare was not zero! That our system devalues feminized care labor doesn’t make it actually free. Opportunity costs are a thing, childcare is more expensive because of Baumol, not because it was free before.

The average medieval peasant could not buy a gas station delta 9 gummy and watch “Scooter Fail Compilation 5” on YouTube, which makes it difficult to compare GDP across time

Really encouraged by a good portion of the comments coming from people who say this is wholly good and returning this historic streetcar suburb to the roots it came from.

Meanwhile, the person who posted this literally sublets a room in a single family home. Rank hypocrisy.

Arguing with Jeff Tittel(former NJ Sierra Club head and notorious NIMBY) on a Facebook friend's post and he's just bringing out all the old arguments.

He thought Christie vetoing his curated inclusionary zoning bill would have gotten me on his side, instead of throwing out examples against it.

Like sometimes I’ll laugh at a post and she’ll be like “what?” and then I’ll think of how it would take an hour to explain the background to a mild chuckle, and like what are we really doing here?

They're about to give a man who would be an unbeatable presidential nominee a huge moral platform and I don't think they've thought this through.

I think this is frankly more embarrassing than what's happening in America. We just got our entire political system hijacked by a single lunatic. The UK has a bunch of ostensibly serious people doing the dumbest shit imaginable.
are you fucking serious

When I think "where the vast majority of Americans actually are," I think about the millionaire lawyer for Jeffrey Epstein & Harvey Weinstein & Donald Trump who was recently in the news for threatening to sue a pierogi seller in Martha's Vineyard, where he has one of his homes.

good work guys you picked a fight in which Dems can stand up out of their permanent defensive crouch and go “our guy is a fucking astronaut and you’re an alcoholic tv host”
Gallego to Hegseth: "You will never ever be half the man that Sen. Kelly is. You, sir, are a coward. And the fact that you are following this order from the president shows how big of a coward you are. I can't wait until you are no longer the secretary of defense."

One of the most catastrophic voluntary decisions a polity and its leadership have ever made
Still reeling from the Stanford report on Brexit. Reduced GDP by up to 8% and investment by as much as 18%. The UK Treasury would have £40 billion more each year if Britain had remained in the EU. Devastating self-immolation.

Breaking character: I am open to the idea the media's coverage of Biden's age and mental acuity was fair or perhaps not even tough enough. But the fact that it was so much tougher than the coverage of Trump's (more severe) mental decline is damning and I can't see how anyone could argue otherwise.
NYT isn’t worth reading because they are in the bag for Trump
