Q: Have you given any more thought to possibly suspending habeas corpus?

TRUMP: Suspending who?

Q: Habeas corpus

TRUMP: I don't know. I'd rather leave that to Kristi.

I watched the whole thing (huge pain tolerance for ingesting bad media), and every "solution" involves lower corporate tax rates, deregulation, and punching left. It's the same old project, nothing new here.

In Donkey Kong Bananza, DK's banana awareness is tied to how far the camera is zoomed out. If the bananas are offscreen, this can create the impression of him playing a silly game with the camera where he makes a funny face only when the player isn't looking closely.

Due to a bizarre code interdependency in Super Smash Bros. Melee, specific combinations of opponents and stages exist that let Luigi start the match with his Luigi Cyclone move fully charged. Knowledge of the full matchup table can be used by sly players to gain an advantage.

In Super Mario Galaxy 2, Wild Glide Galaxy is "larger than the universe", going outside the boundaries of its own skybox. The game simply drags the skybox alongside Mario's position to keep the area immediately around him within the boundaries.

Due to the unique way Super Mario Bros. stores its maps, its level designers were at the mercy of the decorative hills and bushes when placing bottomless pits. While the pits can be placed freely, the decorations are non-negotiable and dictate the level design.

Dear RetroAchievements community,

With our recent policy clarification, we made some glaring mistakes on how it was presented to the community, as well as the message we brought across. We would like to apologize, and address concerns that were brought up.

RetroAchievements users caused a collective uproar that got site admins to remove a bigoted rom hack in the time since Jay posted this. It hasn't even been 10 hours.

Continuing the RetroAchievements thing

Glad they apologized and booted the offending material right off the site.

But why the fuck was it there to begin with and why was it initially defended?

Context: RetroAchievements is directly hosting a (very clearly) Nazi-themed Pokemon rom hack.

They're refusing to remove it, and have released a statement claiming they function as an archival platform: retroachievements.org/forums/topic...

I've also included a screenshot for posterity.
A form post on RetroAchievements.org by the account RAAdmin. The full post does not fit in alt text, but it can be summarized that RetroAchievements is taking a preservation-focused approach and considers themselves an archival platform. They claim their Code of Conduct does not cover the content of the games and projects they host, so they will not remove the rom hack in question.

Retroachievements using the "we're just neutral It's not political!" about allowing a romhack with pokemon named
"KuKlux" that's a ghost in a hood with the ability "Justified"

don't get me started on the "terrorist" pokemon

platforming hate isn't neutral

Unanimous First Circuit takes pains to emphasize that this was an incredibly easy case to decide, despite writing a very long opinion knocking down every ridiculous argument the Trump admin made.
The analysis that follows is necessarily lengthy, as we
must address the parties' numerous arguments in each of the cases
involved. But the length of our analysis should not be mistaken
for a sign that the fundamental question that these cases raise
about the scope of birthright citizenship is a difficult one. It
is not, which may explain why it has been more than a century since
a branch of our government has made as concerted an effort as the
Executive Branch now makes to deny Americans their birthright.

The language of non-consent around AI is really telling. "It's too late to be scared." "It's here whether we want it or not." "You'll have to learn to work with it." "You can't fight the inevitable."

All just variations of "you're not allowed to say no." Creepy technology made by creepy people.

So top Portland cops wrote & *testified* that fed agents have been "instigating and causing" conflict.

They said agents were firing pepper balls unprovoked and "without any apparent warning"

When a Portland chief called a federal agent w/ Qs, the agent hung up.

“It makes it extremely difficult for us to deal with, as the folks that are on the other side of this fence have been, night after night, actually instigating and causing some of the ruckus that’s occurring down there,” Dobson said.

“Okay. So it’s your testimony ICE is creating the problem?” Rask asked.

“I’m saying that they’re not following best practice,” Dobson replied.
