American billionaires on X are chronically addicted to doing the most hamfisted, easy to win a lawsuit kinda defamation based on slop they melted their brains with. I am 100% certain smoking crack cocaine 19 hours out of the day would be less destructive than whatever this is

Had to put down my cat last night, but it gives me solace that he died doing what he loves (trying to bite the vet).

I do not wish for him to rest in peace, for peace was not in his heart so long as there was injustice (the aforementioned vet, dogs existing, etc)

May he battle forever in Valhalla.

My firm represents about 80 communities that have documents delineating water rights that originate from Spanish rule. Complicated doesn't begin to describe the intricacies of water rights in the west. Adding the additional layer of climate change... It's outside most ppls' scope of understanding.
"DATA CENTER WATER USE DOESN'T MATTER" is one of the silliest arguments I see floating around. unless you think re-writing 200 yr old water law (OG political third rail in the US) is a simple matter, the marginal consumption of new water is literally make or break for much of life in the western US

Incredible. CBS Evening News announces five new “simple values” — instead of their “38-page handbook” — as they roll out Tony Dokoupil is lead anchor.

One of those values is simply: “We love America and make no apologies for saying so.”

Amazing how many of our problems boil down to “I’m not young anymore so you must die.”
Far-right people have been indulging in nostalgia slop propaganda for a long time; AI just makes it much easier for the average person to create images of these imagined pasts and the range of time periods people on the Right are nostalgic for is vast (Ancient Rome all the way to the early 2000s)

It is deeply concerning that even the people who are currently paying attention to policy messaging and say that is how you win have also seemed to have completely forgotten/ignored what was the Dem party's policy messaging just a year ago.

Hillary 2016 & Kamala 2024 were the most progressive platforms most voters had seen in their lifetimes. That voters rejected them does not frustrate me half as much as how few of them realized what they were rejecting, & still don't. Even educated, well-read people with zero excuse.
