So let’s be clear. Hunts already breed foxhounds. They already kill foxhounds. But suddenly, when trail hunting is under threat, they’re pretending those same dogs will only die because of a ban?

That’s not an argument, it’s emotional blackmail. And it’s not fooling anyone.

the thing about this strategy is: when a lot of people mock fascists, the fascists crumble; if only a handful of people mock fascists, the fascists beat the shit out of them

the first people to mock fascists are a mix of brave and foolish, cuz they don't know how many are gonna join in
This isn't just a casual observation. Fascism scholars have long made this point. It's why calling them "weird" was a more effective strategy than talking about the prices of eggs. Fascism is an aesthetic political movement - you need to make people feel embarassed and horrified by it.
one of the most effective weapons we have against fascism is mockery, especially when its really funny

when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out

I LOVE READING ARTICLES ONLINE! THIS IS GREAT I LOVE IT NO NOTES!

That bottom ad is fixed! I can dismiss it but the footprint stays at that size. I am getting an ad blocker ASAP, I know it's how these companies make money but like, this is unusable! It's a broken product!

Seems to me that it used to be that *creating non-consensual intimate images of women and children* would be the sort of thing that Conservatives might publicly be against.

But what a world we inhabit.

Last year I did a deep dive into the world of the Mother & Baby Homes in Ireland, run by the Catholic Church, because I was born in one but had always avoided going back & looking closely at the system & the place where I started my life.
Initially it was deeply, deeply depressing & enraging.
BUT.

The post office is a public service, and making it pay for itself is an abdication of responsibility by the government. Fund the bloody thing so it doesn’t overprice itself into a death spiral.

People around Dublin (at least those outside the M50) should also be pushing back against this. The M50 isn't congested because there's not enough lanes, it's because you've got so many thousands of people all trying to go to one place at once. If most of those could stay at home, no problem.
Seems many companies are using this tactic to cut employees. Not being allowed work in Regional hubs either but have to be in an office in Dublin. It's something those "standing up for rural Ireland" should be opposing vehemently.
Staff at Enterprise Ireland have expressed concern after learning that the semi-state is trying to reverse its remote work policy.

Under the plans, some staff may have to attend the Dublin HQ instead of its regional offices.

A question not enough Americans are asking is:
When will the generals and admirals start to disobey illegal orders?
“A diplomatic source said: 'The generals think Trump's Greenland plan is crazy and illegal. So they are trying to deflect him with other major military operations. They say it's like dealing with a five-year-old'.”

That’s an insult to 5-year olds.

A dangerous and corrupt moron.
Trump 'orders US army chiefs to draw up plan to invade Greenland'
Donald Trump has ordered his special forces commanders to draw up a plan for the invasion of Greenland - but is being resisted by senior military figures, The Mail on Sunday has learned.
