Do you really have any rights if they are openly saying they will just make up reasons to detain you?
thematthill.bsky.social
Wow. Greg Bovino admits on camera that his agents can detain people if you look scared, change your demeanor, or grip a steering wheel too tight.

As his unmasked agents walk around with large guns to scare you, they may arrest you just for that — even if you're a U.S. citizen.

I've lived in both Dublin and Cork, and I'm from neither, so I can say with no bias, Lyons is superior to Barry's.

They've got frogs, they're multiplying
ICE is looooosing control
juliemawesome.bsky.social
The Portland frogs are multiplying. I’m watching the livestream at katu.com/watch
Three green froggies and a skeleton frog! These are inflatable costumes and some of the frogs have little capes. They’re protesting on the other side of the street from ICE.

[Me, a poor, on the subway, glowering jealously at all those fat cat, fancy pants rich people on the public bus]
Andrew Cuomo tweet:

@ZohranKMamdani's "plan" provides no relief for working families who take the subway, and unnecessary benefits to wealthy New Yorkers who take the bus and can afford the fare.

I focus on working families, while @ZohranKMamdani the mansion boy focuses on helping the rich.

I suppose they meant "more readily available". Or that most people get it?

Someone told me that sweet popcorn is the standard popcorn in England, is that true? Seems absolutely bizarre to me.

Anytime I've handed in notice I have like a parabola of workload, it peaks with training your replacement and then I switch to "well that's not gonna be *my* problem" mode lol

A billion dollars is the socio-political equivalent of a loose nuke, and we should work as ruthlessly and diligently to prevent the acquisition of the former as we do the latter.

“The problem with billionaires isn’t that they’re hoarding money that would otherwise pay for a Scandinavian social utopia. It’s that their money has become a source of wildly distorted political power that allows a few men with extremist views to wreak havoc on the rest of us.”

Nice to see the humble frog being reclaimed as a symbol from the right 🐸

Blessed are the frogs, for they keep making authoritarians look incredibly stupid
Three persons in inflatable frog costumes. One of them is holding a nicely painted sign with two little cartoon frogs holding hands, below the text "FROGS TOGETHER STRONG"

Haha, fair. If you do decide to do it and have any questions lmk, I'd be happy to help 😊

My e-bike was retrofit, cost 500 euro (plus the bike which I already had). It was like a days worth of work which I kind of enjoyed tbh.
tinydonkey.bsky.social
I'm now primarily an analogue cyclist, but I wouldn't be if I hadn't gotten an e-bike. They're great and more should be done to get more people on them.

By me this week - the happiest thing I've got to report of late, with a glorious trip over the summer to Montreal

Well, it's official. After our paper last year (onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....), the Slender-billed Curlew is officially declared Extinct today.

Scientists dream of describing new species, not writing their obituary and epitaph, knowing that they are gone forever #ornithology

I love that we're unironically in a "me may have to give Donald Trump a Nobel peace prize because we're afraid of what he might do otherwise" situation. Great state of affairs.

My favorite harmless conspiracy theory is that “Gillian Anderson” is actually a Parent Trap situation where there’s an American one and an English one and they take turns doing appearances
nikostratis.com
weird insomnia is great, you get to be up at 1:36 am scribbling "Gillian Anderson: real British accent?" on a notepad because you don't keep your phone in the bedroom and refuse to get up because legally then the day has started

We’re just over two weeks out from polling day - this is when the undecideds will be making up their minds. We want to bring Catherine’s message of hope directly to them, and share why we think she will be a brilliant President for the people.

Back in the days when making hundreds of millions was still considered a success. Now producers don't get out of bed for blockbusters that don't make profits that start with a "b".
