Plus a Keldon observation, and early returns on the Spurs’ full guard trio:

Still no community note on this at X, where it’s been viewed many millions of times. Someone’s point about the need for AI regulations seems to have been made.
This image, presumably doctored, purporting to be from today, is going around X this evening; hundreds of thousands of views, no community note yet

so, this right here? this is one of the absolutely most lawless, brazenly unconstitutional impeachable offenses ever committed by any president other than trump in the history of our country.

like, this is an open and shut case. and it's a case which targeted *republicans.*
This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

NEW: Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser (D) says Colorado will not release Tina Peters after President Trump announced he is pardoning her state-level convictions.

"This is a lawless act. It's an act of intimidation," Weiser said. "It has no basis in the American law."

A poorly-informed person like @ronfilipkowski.bsky.social might take this to mean "Powell thinks the government is fudging the numbers". That is not the case. Powell is referring to a mechanical revisions process that is driven by the methodology of estimating payrolls. Let's walk through that.

Okay this is going to be long so mute it if you don't want a granular explanation but first: SHAME on @ronfilipkowski.bsky.social for misrepresenting what Chair Powell said in order to pat himself on the back. Shame on you.

Let's talk about measuring the 171mm people of the US labor force.
@peark.es seems real bad that the fed chair doesn't trust the job numbers

The late night Truth Social tantrum is coming.
Quite the day for Trump: The defeat below, the defeat in Indiana, the defeat on the latest Letitia James case, the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, really bad poll numbers (his handling of the economy numbers threatening to fall into the 20s) He's losing it politically as fast as he is mentally.
Say it again for the folks in the back: "The first time the House has voted to overturn a Trump executive order in this term." 🙌

Significant statement from Jeffries and House Democratic leaders saying they will vote “present” on the motion to table Al Green’s resolution to impeach President Trump. They say they’re “laser-focused on fighting to lower the high cost of living” plus on health care and corruption.

This is a really disturbing story on several levels and certainly anyone who interacts with the Pentagon specifically or the administration more generally should read it:
I asked the Pentagon about Pete Hegseth's mentor. Then the threats started.

For the Spurs, tonight's victory in L.A. broke a string of 14 consecutive losses against Luka Doncic.

Before tonight, Spurs' last win vs. Luka came April 11, 2021 when Doncic was with Dallas.

Only one player appeared in both of those games for the Spurs: Keldon Johnson.

The Supreme Court justices should have protesters outside their homes.
IF YOU WANTED to design a quiet coup in a republic that still mouths the words “checks & balances,” you wouldn’t roll tanks down Penn. Avenue. You’d hand a volatile president a match, dress it up as “Article II,” and watch six robed partisans strike it against the wiring of the administrative state.

SCOTUS case Trump v. Slaughter lets a president fire through independent agencies, gut Congress’s guardrails, and put every regulator on a loyalty leash.

People keep wondering why they're going after Venezuela. It's because they want to do regime change and control its oil, then use a big tract of land there to keep a tax free "network state" that looks like Dubai but operates like Rhodesia. They are saying this out loud! Believe them!
