We are getting pretty hyped for @cubecon.org aboard the starship WarrenFish! I’ll be at @mistymountaingames.com when they open on Wednesday with cubecobra.com/cube/overvie... on me and hope to see you there!

On June 7, 2024 the Junkies Air Force established a cube for the bottom one percent of its drafters.
Its purpose was to troll the absolute idea of Magic and to ensure that the handful of players who 3-0'd were the sickest fools in the world.
They were success-adjacent.
Today, the Junkies call it Nonsense Camp.

The times I succumb to temptation most often are when there are two combo pieces in the pack. Yesterday I took stifle when dreadnaught was also in the pack and I felt like a million bucks when that 12/12 came back.

Finally: AI cannot do your job, but an AI salesman can 100% convince your boss to fire you and replace you with an AI that can't do your job, and when the bubble bursts, the money-hemorrhaging "foundation models" will be shut off and we'll lose the AI that can't do your job, and you will be long gone, retrained or retired or "discouraged" and out of the labor market, and no one will do your job.
AI is the asbestos we are shoveling into the walls of our society and our descendants will be digging it out for generations:

Incredible sandwich with chicken, hot peppers, and cheese.

Dried coated with cheese and pepper dust. Tastes like Firenze.

To close out this event, I cringe-drafted my own Tresserhorn Gardens and had a terrific Time Sieve deck with Master of the Bridge. I never got to go to infinite turns, but had all the pieces. Both Tezzerets were sweet.

I got the trophy and took home a pin and apologize for nothing.

Tezzeret, Master of The Bridge has made Ugin, Scion of Storms a free spell. This opponent did not prevail.

For casual day 2, my first draft was of @thecubemiser.bsky.social ‘s synergy cube and I had what seemed like a fairly solid GBw enchantment deck for this format. I went 1-2 against Hogaak in some intensely close and intricate games and then won the next round before we broke to draft again.

Mostly golgari enchantress deck. Eidolon of Blossoms and Doomwake Giant made it good.

My final draft of the event itself was The Depleted Lands cubecobra.com/cube/overvie... which I was only sort-of equipped to do after two other drafts but I got a pestilence deck and a pretty good land base for this kind of desert cube. I won round one decisively and then lost two close ones.

Next was The Hall of Legends where I went for as many single-pip legends as I could get plus a few busted cards. I got to hard-cast seven-mana Atraxa and then clone her twice. cubecobra.com/cube/overvie...

First up was The Oldest School by @phantooom.bsky.social and I took myself back to 1995 with this silliness. It ended up 1-2 but I had some gross plays like the juggernaut I posted on Saturday. cubecobra.com/cube/overvie...

Okay, KPop Demon Hunters is genuinely brilliant, independently of your interest in kpop, demons, or the hunting thereof. The animation is genius, the script is a masterclass in concise storytelling, the lyrics are Miranda levels of inspired, and the music always does exactly what it needs to do.
