Thinking of European Commission staff behind the Farm to Fork Strategy when they'll read the new #EATLancet report.... They had it all right, and it's a real shame the EU's blueprint for healthy, fair and environmentally friendly #FoodSystems was derailed.

In a functioning society, this would have been front page news everywhere.

In our society, this didn't make the fine print.

As @georgemonbiot.bsky.social pointed out once, it's quite depressing to check the headlines when you know what the real headline should be...

Ich hatte heute
- Tiere im Gleis
- Oberleitungsschaden

That sounded quite different, just a couple of weeks ago.

But ok, then I guess we'll see a systematic clean-up of that cesspool formerly known as twitter.

Sure. If it makes you feel better.

Learn to argue. Provide proofs instead of baseless claims. That's not helpful to your case - even if you spice things up with technical terms that you (obviously) don't fully grasp.

thoba.bsky.social
And: any form of large-scale energy production has a massive environmental footprint. Thus, that's no argument against renewables in particular, unless you can demonstrate that the environmental footprints of renewables exceed those of fossil fuel or nuclear.

thoba.bsky.social
You are constantly moving the goalpost. Not helpful for a serious discussion. This was not (only) about solar, you were claiming that renewables in general were a"pile of nonsense". I've provided several examples where that is obviously not the case. And your counter-"arguments" miss the point.

Because geothermal is location-dependent, we should not use it? Or what was your idea behind stating the obvious? Every energy infrastructure has an environmental footprint. Also that goes without saying. And I wrote about "solar on existing infrastructure". So, what's your point with that photo...?

Learn about offshore windfarms, geothermal energy and solar panels on top of existing infrastructure. Then you'll understand.

thoba.bsky.social
I did not talk about Trump's ignorance towards renewable energy.

And for the rest, I'm only marginally interested in an opinion that "renewable energy is a pile of nonsense", which seems borne out of naive ignorance.
