Not everyone believed me when I wrote that Trump wants Greenland becuase it would make him feel important, but that's what he told the NYT:

When asked why he needed to possess the territory, he said: “Because that’s what I feel is psychologically needed for success"

The leading cause of death by far among ICE officers is COVID-19.
How dangerous is it really to work for ICE?
According to ICE’s own data, none of its officers have been killed by an immigrant in the agency’s history.

This confirms our worst fears.

Labour want to divert taxpayers money from our public services to pay for their mandatory Digital ID scheme.

The Lib Dems fought against Labour’s ID plans before and won, and we can do it again.

For fucks sake. A nationwide no stopping on footways & verges would have been an easy win. Councils & government are not responsible for helping you store private property; but they are responsible for ensuring your ability to pass & repass. Footpath/verge parking prevents that right being exercised
DfT press release on footway parking.

They've bottled a national ban and so will rely on local action with new powers (which are not explained, but area-based).

A postcode lottery as now then? I await actual details.

Thanks @nerd4cities.bsky.social for featuring my work in this episode!

I'm happy to talk any time about how car brain plays out when drivers interact with bicyclists (I did my dissertation on it!), and also power, masculinity, status - my favorite topics 😁🤓

Horrifying to see an American woman shot dead by an ICE agent on a Minneapolis street, and Donald Trump’s ghoulish response is truly chilling.

Britain mustn’t follow America down this dark path.

Devastating vetting failures underline a wider risk, as Casey and Henriques also showed. Oversized forces weaken leadership, culture and accountability. IMO creating mega-forces that mirror the Met’s scale only increases the risk of repeating these failures.

Commenting as Govt launch a road safety strategy.

Every death on our roads is unacceptable. We need a Vision Zero ethos: no deaths or serious injury. Change driving culture, reject speeding, use speed-limiting tech, strengthen sentences, end ‘accident’ language. Driving is a privilege, not a right.
