Imagine being a right-wing newspaper columnist whose job consists of writing like 800 words per week while making 6 figures and saying this.
If you think the system doesn't seem interested in rewarding white guys at all that seems to be an issue of your media diet and not a reflection of reality

The workflow of a ‘prompt engineer’ making a video seems like a skit when contemplated.

Begging a text prompt to do your job, watching a couple heartbeats worth of movement on screen, and then repeating that over and over.

It’s very funny to me that countries are trying to pass laws banning teens from social media until they’re older and can “handle it” as if the last decade hasn’t been about watching rich middle aged men nuke their brains on Twitter and then run the USA via shitpost.
Dude. Yes. Alito and Thomas are of course the standout examples, but all of the Republican justices have tells in their writing and their questioning indicating that they are, to varying degrees, marinating their brains in dumb bitch juice
My theory, fwiw, is that Supreme Court Justices are not immune to Twitter brain poisoning. I suspect all six have horrific information environments and have therefore lost the ability to understand the people who don't agree with them.

i really thought the "emperor's new clothes" was more metaphorical than this.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

The best quote I’ve ever seen about this is that every Democratic leader of the 21st century is ideally suited by temperament and mindset to be in congress in 1995 debating the v-chip.
the democratic party's bias to normalcy is gonna kill us off.

the gop is literally talking about a military junta and the democratic leader is operating like he can just cut a deal with republicans like its normal times.

Extraordinary new detail about the FBI purge.
*Senior officials were asked to fire lower level officials tagged by online right wingers as being anti-Trump.
*When they asked for a reason - required by law - they were not given any. They refused. Then they were fired.

people have a profound yearning right now to be “saved” by a technological quantum leap forward, coupled with a profound fear of missing out that comes from having failed to get rich / being born too late to get rich in the Silicon Valley digital revolution
It really does feel like a lot of formerly reasonable people have been infected by some sort of terrifying brain parasite when it comes to unthinking and total acceptance of using AI tools
Absolute worst part, imo, is the pressure from school administrators to "welcome our new overlords" by adopting AI. It's also happening in elite universities, to my utter bafflement & horror. Anyone who calls bullshit on AI is treated as if only ignorance could explain their perspective.
