Republicans have to know things won't go back to the way they were after this nightmare is over.
This can of worms, and that barn door, and Pandora's box, are now all wide open.

not the point, but I did a doubletake on this graphic - "That blob is labeled 'White House' but they left off part of ... oh right"

Val knows what’s up. This just came, a nice note about my ginger pie.

It’s not too late. You could make one for Thanksgiving. Or, you know…the weekend, a birthday, your cat’s quinceañera. You don’t really need an excuse. Just make one when the mood hits.

If anything kicks off a wave of early retirements from House Republicans, it would be if the TN07 flipped to the Dems. That's an R+10 district. There are 95 House Republicans in R+10 or below seats. 36 are in R+5 are below.

If just 4 decide its not worth it by January, the Dems control the House.

This is one of those cool things I feel like I should already have known about, but somehow didn't: a map that allows you to see how #coastlines would change with #sealevel rise or fall, at any scale from local to global. Also mildly terrifying, as such things tend to be. 🧪

Leaf blowers are especially troublesome for people who travel by bicycle because:
1. They are used to move debris into bike lanes/portions of streets used by people on bikes.
2. It's no fun to get blasted in the face with dirt/dust. This happened to me yesterday and I had to stop to wipe my eyes.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have developed a heteromultivalent nanogel capable of killing some of the most dangerous bacteria known to medicine- with over 99.9% effectiveness against P. aeruginosa. It also showed strong antibacterial effects against other major threats, including E. coli and MRSA.

3. We literally let Russia flood us with propaganda designed to undermine American cohesion, because far-right Republicans think it helps them politically. The Tories allowed Russian money to flood UK politics, and in return they committed great-power suicide via Brexit.

2. The Russia-Ukraine war has demonstrated that Russia is even weaker than its detractors assumed. Moscow bats above its weight through a combination of opportunism and unfettered foreign subversion, especially in Europe and North America.

1 Can't emphasize this enough. EU is home to multiple "second-tier" great powers — who are only "second-tier" because they chose not to make large investments in military capabilities — and is itself an economic & diplomatic great power. NATO is the most powerful security confederation in history.
It sure seems like Vance leads a faction that is enamored of 🇷🇺's cultivated cultural conservative "soft power", reflexively anti-Atlanticist, and stupid enough to think that wedging 🇷🇺-🇨🇳 is a) realistic and b) worth trashing our relationship with the world's third largest economy.
