I saw an ICE raid today in Cedar-Riverside. The man they took said repeatedly he was a U.S. Citizen and had ID. They put him in a car they sped off at an unsafe speed. Not that I expected much, but I called 911 and reported their behavior. The dispatcher asked "what I wanted them to do about it."

This is why Black organizers & Indigenous organizers & POC organizers often ask people to join up with existing efforts rather than reinventing the wheel on their own. There are experts you can learn from, bring in, get help from, collaborate with, recruit for, hire...
But I do think that if you don't have the experience to think that stuff through you should ask for help from people you respect *before* assembling your neighbors who know even less. You know?
