As I breeze through #EmpireoftheDawn I find myself thinking, "I really hope they release an art book for all the illustrations we don't get in full color." Cause they're lovely but I doubt the grayscale does them a whit of justice and in some cases actively makes them hard to see detail.

Hey @torbooks.bsky.social don't call a location "Chicago" when it's actually a suburb 1hr drive outside of Chicago. Call it Naperville, since that's where it's actually located. Chicago is disingenuous, because a 7pm signing on Thurs for a lot of people would mean hitting the road during rush hour.

Had a good time at the Chuck Tingle event. Got to meet the buckaroo himself & another fan who coincidentally was also from my home state and went to my same synagogue! However, at the end of the event the hosts managed to photograph the floor at my feet while I had my moment with the Tingle himself.

Did I really see Glamour write an article suggesting people read RPF on AO3? I did.

Glamour, please stay in your fucking lane and stop encouraging goddamn unhealthy parasocial relationships with real people or writing about their love lives!

This is a vital message: one of the larger reasons BlueSky is refreshingly free of alt-right shitlords is because in the early days we made a gentleperson’s agreement to starve these fuckos out and it worked. No likes, no quotes, no engagement. They got bored and left. Please keep the Old Ways.
Vice-President JD Vance confirms he has joined BlueSky.

Library, are you okay? Like, 4 of my 5 holds came available simultaneously despite saying they'd be five weeks out. Seriously.

A Taste of Gold and Iron, The Road of Bones, When The Moon Hatched, The Shadow of the Gods, Tender is the Flesh... All came available within 3 days of each other.

"Derounian disappeared from the public’s consciousness by the 1950s. Yet, reading his work today feels like a Hollywood prequel script recounting a villain’s origin story."

I'm just having a really negative reaction to people's reactions to Musk's claim that Trump is in the Epstein files.

My reaction is: In 2016, one of his victims openly sued Trump and Epstein jointly claiming she was raped at the age of 13.

Today's Saturday project is "DeDRM all my Kindle books that I ended up with over the years through gives, small purchases, and a lot of Goodreads giveaways (PS, replaced that with #Storygraph and it's amazing, far better tool/site.) I have only 83 books, so it won't take long.

I love how his framing of intolerance here is the inverse of how conservatives mock safe spaces. Intolerance should be mocked. Re: the inclusion of a Black character: “If that upsets you, if that makes you feel like you’re not in your special place… go talk to your therapist about it.”
