It's worth reminding each other every couple days that every delay you create, every horrible opportunity you deter means someone gets home to their family, might even mean someones actual life is saved. All of it is worth it.

A very large component of especially the “online left” is the idea that all one needs to do to win is just speak the correct policy which is obviously a winner.
This stalking horse idea is key and the left has trouble with it because it treats polyvalence as evidence of capture as a foregone conclusion rather than a (potentially favorable) terrain to fight on
okay since it appears i have to spell this out even more: “training” — a thing that sounds good to sensible moderate voters, who exist and are uncomfortable with sudden change — can, if we make it, be a stalking horse for “moves that effective neuter the agency”

ICE totaled this car, abducted a woman, and then left it in the middle of Snelling Avenue, one of the busiest streets in the Twin Cities.

This whole protein thing is absolutely ridiculous (and completely smacks of gender). There's a limit to how much protein a body can process much less turn into muscle. It's crazy that people think they need the equivalent protein to 3 oz of chicken breast in their water.

Look I know that “diversity is our strength” is cringe but: diversity is our strength. People who come from distinct cultural practices actively serving in community with one another. What a blessing to live in a world where that happens.
The thing about all these people they hate — the Somalis, the Haitians — are some of the most generous people you’ve ever met. Whose cultures are predicated on hospitality, whose kindness is entirely unmatched.
