Yeah for people not up to date on the back story, the conservative war on "Gender Ideology" actually started as a response to Gender Theory, and specifically the impact of Judith Butler's "Gender Trouble" at the United Nations summit for women in 1995.
This is more directly about trans people but "gender ideology" has always kind of meant "the abominal idea that men and women can be equal"

I enjoyed reading this. Weaves mysticism, history, politics together into a tapestry that unravels the positionality of transness and madness in society. That awareness of the difficult liminal space between spirituality and madness is itself something I quite resonate with.
I've had this ready for a couple of months but haven't really known what to do with it so here it is on a badly designed wordpress because I am bad at things. When Cybele first spoke to me, this is what she wanted me to write. So here it is. withouthistory.blog/2026/01/14/o...

Today, I would like to present a deep dive into feminist history that got away from me.

Like, really got away from me.

It is about the futility of a politics of appeasement. It is about the unburial of a neglected feminist history. But most of all, it's about lesbian feminism, and sins unforgiven.

No state is good. All states are just varying intensities of repression, that's what the function of a state is.

But don't you fucking dare cape for this one, in particular, just because you think Israel's atrocities justifies their own.

We don't know how many people died because they didn't bother keeping accurate records. We do know that many of the victims were trans, because they were just shoving them all in there.

I have been genuinely inspired by the resilience and courage of Iranian anarchists in their resistance to the incredibly repressive Iranian regime.

Soheil Arabi wrote this during one of his many stints in prison; he's still incarcerated for being non-religious.

Tempted to do a little rant about how anarchy isn't actually a destination you get to, it's a schema by which you live your life, but I think I'd mostly be wasting my time and rephrasing this beautiful work less eloquently:

Although I haven't done anything with it since it launched, I did finally set my blog up in spring. I didn't really know what to write about, in part because a lot has happened this year, but I'm going to strive to get a consistent flow of essays/critical analysis pieces up there next year.

ppl are praising this bcos... well they can't help themselves.

but pay attention to piers here. he meets someone who hates women and his response is 'but... the sex, tho?! you must never have had sex?!'.

he's just as much a 'misogynistic dinosaur' as fuentes.
PIERS: “You’re not gay?”
FUENTES: “No. But women are very difficult to be around.”
P: “Should they vote?”
F: “No.”
PIERS: “They should stay home?”
FUENTES: “Yeah.”
PIERS: “So you’re just a misogynistic dinosaur. Have you ever had sex?”
FUENTES: “No.”
PIERS: “Wow. Says the guy who never got laid.”

She requires more self-esteem and social awareness. I'd add anti-psychotics too but those haven't been developed yet and I'm not sure they would work; kind of hard to medicate the suffocating presence of a schizophrenic god that you're an emanation of away. She also really needs to go outside more.
