They got the D-1 master tapes. Then the hardware to read them. Then service manuals to repair/maintain. THEN, CRITICAL REPLACEMENT PARTS. And now they're ERROR CORRECTING.

I don't get this hyper obsession with things needing to be widescreen. Do borders scare people? I know some anime was made with the 4:3 to 16:9 crop in mind, but in other cases it's like you're missing 40% of the movie. Laserdisc may be standard def but at least you can actually see the entire film.

Just so I'm clear on this, computer memory has tripled in price because a bunch of it that hasn't been produced yet has been ordered to populate GPUs that aren't installed in data centers that aren't built yet in order to service a demand that doesn't exist to make profits that don't happen.
