I wish people were willing to accept that it's impossible to have a *perfect* restoration of film this bad - like, I can understand objections on historical grounds when something is truly warped in a bad way, but they're honest about this being a remastered documentary project!
Bit bleary, but here's the same moment in an the original analogue version. It's not AI, it's inherent in the original image. Not to mention around that time, the Beatles logo was pretty inconsistent. aboutthebeatles.com/beatles-logo...

This one is basically perfect
Catholic History Day is every day. Maybe be someone who is plural, a gay man or part of U2 or even someone who has SIDS. You should reevaluate your Catholic privilege Bobby. You never had to fight for your right to coexist in society.

"Hey let's report on farmers adding pollution to a water supply so bad it causes cancer, frame an unrelated actor and put cancer cells over an image of him"

This is so disrespectful to the victims. The people actually causing the cancer should be socially punished, not get off free. Insane.

Just curious... have the people just realizing not to "blindly trust ChatGPT" been blindly trusting everything *else* the computer tells them this whole time?

I haven't seen Pluribus yet, but I'm a little tentative thanks to Better Call Saul being kinda eh + the fact that the show is apparently a bunch of boomer whining about AI from what I've heard lol

The only pertinent thing about this story is that everyone involved is responsible for the murder of millions of infants and children. I don't care about Cum Poetry, I care that these are serial murderers
Hey, congratulations to all of Olivia Nuzzi’s horny media critic defenders. Heckuva job!

Is there an example of mass democratized humor ever working? Like, the second a funny subreddit I know grows beyond just a small initial ring of common posters, it becomes permanently ruined - only individual people and their friends ever stay funny

Wonderful blocklist in the hidden replies, everyone 🗣️
If your argument involves referring to Americans as “USians” it doesn’t matter how cogent the rest of your point may be tbh

Just found the worst subreddit of all time, r/AskARussian 🗿 a quick look through there shows that the average user is mad about the EU not being enough like Hitler, and they mock Americans for asking if they'll be persecuted there, saying they "like foreigners" (so true!)

Oh my god this thread is wild, I pissed off the weirdest people on this site so badly LMFAO
I could no sooner control my wife than I could control the weather, nor would I want to, I'm stating that violating the mutual trust of a partner is bad.

How absurd that you think this is somehow controversial!

I can tell you what's polluting and parching the eastern farmland of Oregon.

(It's the farms)
How Oregon’s Data Center Boom Is Supercharging a Water Crisis

Amazon has come to the state’s eastern farmland, worsening a water pollution problem that’s been linked to cancer and miscarriages.

Making the mistake of going back through the feeds of accounts (on here) that I used to follow on Twitter, and damn... to everyone I follow now, thank you for being reasonable people who actually understand nuance, cause and effect, compromise, and how politics has to work lol

Look at the replies to this post to get massive 2019 Twitter-style psychic damage
“Capitalism forces you to wake up at 7am against your body’s natural rhythms” no that’s Taylorism and if you don’t like living in a society that coordinates effort to ensure a better outcome for all then I don’t think you’ll love the alternatives

Episode II clears TPM because it's actually a barely competent movie sometimes, rather than being literal complete dogshit in every way that a movie can possibly be

Also, Episode IV will always be the true soul of the series to me - V is cool, but it loses the awesome B-movie charm a bit too much
haven’t seen ROS or Solo but this seems like a pretty ball-knowing list from Pritzker, particularly if he volunteered the name “Star Wars” rather than “A New Hope”

This is why the actual AI doom scenario is if the global memeplex ever spews enough anti-AI bs into the noosphere that the concept of AI itself gets pushed into the 'evil' category. Hyperstitioning supervillains because a bunch of people couldn't keep their emotions regulated
the consensus seems to be that models are not inventing evil from first principles, but rather they are formed by correlating vast swaths of human text and recognize that certain concepts are correlated w/one another (that's how LLMs work in the first place), so they see the evil ones as related

Not sure how much of a hot take this is, but I've noticed that basically everything across the board tends to be overrated online - if I see that something is universally beloved, my initial expectation is set at "it's good", and if something has some complaints, I expect mediocrity LOL

For wide swaths of this country, I would agree, but that's because most interior American regional cuisines are horrible

It's kinda wild going back through my old follows on here, and seeing that most of the "anarchists" I knew on here openly admit to spending most of their time on Twitter for fun to this day, and their few posts this year have been to mock the mass protests and vaguely joke about Trump being funny
