this frustrating trend of "apolitical tech acceleration" continues to be, in practice, little more than a weak excuse for embracing contributors who *go out of their way* to make marginalised groups feel unwelcome in the space. it's antithetical to open-source values. it's embarrassing.

When prices were going up under Biden there was a constant deluge of news stories about it because the media did not like Biden and wanted him to lose. Under Trump there is not a constant deluge of news stories about coffee prices because they like Trump and want him to win

I wish the federal government would require sidewalks and bike paths in some situations. They certainly should. But, Republicans lie about everything.
US DOT Sec Duffy is repeating a falsehood: That "there were some of the requirements in the last administration was 'are you adding a bike lanes and walking paths.'" There was no such requirement under Biden!
Biden-era DOT did prioritize funding for bike & ped investment, but it did not require it.
