I'm not very good at playing magic the gathering, i'm mildly obsessed with Philadelphia sports (sometimes). I'm a Gen Xer who read the book (did you know there's a book?) and a PhD drop out. Neurodivergent, i like to converse, ask me something.
i mean it is odd to be so terribly wrong is it not?
I think the Seahawks are the best team in the NFL, which is odd.

do states still have closed primaries?
Right, the answer isn't to abandon the party to these weasels.

The answer is to flood the party with people who will take it over and transform it.
Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.

Let me tell you why you shouldn’t do that in Colorado.

One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.

Star Trek 4: The Voyage Home had to be one of, if not THE most effective, parts of the Save The Whales campaign from the 1980s and 19990s.

Humpback whales (Megaptera novaeangliae).

A few decades after a Star Trek movie where the central conflict was the total extinction of the humpback, their numbers are rising fast enough to put them at "Least Concern" on the IUCN Red List.

Good morning from Appleton, where the real feel this morning is currently 12 degrees.

It’ll be about 31 degrees — with the real feel around 22 — at kickoff over in Green Bay later, dropping to 27-28 before the game is over. Little bit of wind.

Football weather.

I've looked at all the details of this deal to end the shutdown reached by a small group of Senate Democrats. I've talked to a number of friends on the Hill to see if there's anything I'm missing. Sadly, I am not.

This is a shit deal. It's a betrayal. It's cowardice.

Chuck Schumer is either allowing eight of his colleagues to be the sin eaters who take the blame for passing this shutdown deal, or he’s genuinely powerless to hold his conference together. Either way, he should be out of leadership tomorrow morning.

Bernie: "You can get 100 votes, it's a meaningless gesture. Because the House won't take the vote up, and the President certainly won't sign it."

Now Schumer is speaking about all the bad faith moves the GOP has made.

Bernie - "If this resolution passes, we will be throwing 15 million of our fellow Americans off their health insurance.... Studies show that if we throw 15M off health insurance, 50k will die."

He also argued that the vote the GOP has offered is meaningless.
