From the point of view of being an Actual Historian I just find the idea of needing to be "proud" of history baffling. Identifying with the history of a nation, which is in and of itself a made up thing, is just weird. It is also something that usually corresponds with not studying history.

It sucks that there even had to be a vote on this but given there were at least two transphobic Your Party MPs and given the Corbynite faction has been welcoming transphobes into the party bureaucracy members explicitly codifying support for trans liberation was probably necessary.
