it is the policy of this government to treat democratic-led states as conquered territories and the people therein as something like hostiles or even enemy combatants

Outrageous.

Ministers should be listening to scientists, frontline communities and those working towards a green transition – not hosting the interests of oil giants in their own offices.

If you follow this argument through to its logical conclusion there should be a UK Government channel on pornhub.
Cabinet Office Minister Baroness Anderson tells the Lords the Government will keep on using X.

"I still believe that X is an appropriate platform to use because I believe in freedom of speech..."

"It is incredibly important that there is a counter narrative on those platforms," she says.

Of course, in the UK "regulators" are never really regulators. Their raison d'etre is political: to dress political goals in regulatory clothing, to act as reputational buffer zones, to gaslight outsiders like you and I into thinking regulation exists. But never, god forbid, to regulate.
Ofcom *might* "undertake a swift *assessment* to determine *whether* there are *potential* compliance issues that *warrant investigation*."

Hard to believe, but we waste almost a quarter of a billion pounds of public money annually on this absolute shower of a regulator.

It’s official: RFK Jr has officially reduced recommended childhood vaccines from 17 to 11, removing universal vaccine recommendations for RSV, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, dengue and two types of bacterial meningitis.

This reckless contravention of science is going to kill people.

I came to this country as a child refugee. No English, no certainty, no idea what my life could become. Britain gave me refuge.

Not on a timer, not with conditions attached, but with a chance to grow roots.

UK set to limit refugees to temporary stays
Shabana Mahmood is expected to say the era of permanent protection for refugees is over, in major changes to the UK's asylum and immigration system.

It is EXHAUSTING not only being made responsible for coming up with new kinds of assignments for our students; it's also tedious reading op-eds that suggest the core problem is a crisis in teaching. But, as Chris and I lay out here, this isn't a crisis in teaching; it's an attack on learning.

Scotland's richest 2% now have more wealth than half the population combined.

At today's #FMQs we asked the First Minister why shooting estates owned by billionaires still pay no business rates.

We’re losing millions of pounds that could go towards our schools, libraries, and hospitals.

I've got a lot of time for the Quakers and if I ever find God I hope it'll be according to their framework.
This, from the Quakers, is a pretty good example of how to resist pressure from bigot lobbying groups. Effectively “we legally can allow trans people to use the loo, we morally should, and we tried it and nothing bad happened”

Listen to the latest News Agents and count how many times they say people are right to have concerns, without giving any reasons, and how many time they 'warn the left'.

So many centrists are just right wingers too afraid to own it.

The Labour response to Farage policy of leaving the Refugee & Humam Rights Convention should not be “he won’t deliver”.

It should be “this is not morally right” (not “British values” even).

Voters want to see authentic consistent leadership. Not debate the workability of cruelty.

Disabled women know more than most how blocking access to toilets isn’t a minor inconvenience - it’s a form of segregation from everyday life. It is turning down drinks with friends as you worry you can’t fulfil a basic human need if you go out. And knowing society has made the choice not to care.

Our prime minister shouldn't be taking sides. What about those who can't drive and take public transport, walk or cycle? Is he not on their side?
Why is Labour
- cutting fuel duty
- funding large road infrastructure
- increasing the cost of public transport
- not investing in cycling?

Cars ruin cities in more ways than just running people over.

Paris has reduced air pollution by 50-55% over the past 20 years through policies limiting traffic and banning polluting vehicles.
Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change.
Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.
