The real question is not "Why is Bluesky so left-coded," the real question is "Why can't the right exist in a social media environment without algorithmic assistance, where people can ignore them"

I've said this before, but Leah is one of my professional heroes. She is a national treasure. It's been such an insane privilege to work with her & learn from her & play even a miniscule role in her work.
This is a huge loss for OPB and for Oregonians. I do not understand it at all.
On the day that @opb.org CEO Rachel Smolkin posted this video, saying OPB’s funding gap of $5 million was closed, I was also told by the Chief Content Officer that Hush was canceled. Eighty percent of my income, and my health insurance - gone. I was given no reason for the cancellation. 1/x

This matters for Oregonians, as conservatives in the state are using the “Mississippi Miracle” as an excuse to defund public K-12 education in Oregon in favor of private charters. A couple of small-town districts have already done this (and their outcomes have been terrible)
Very interesting Gelman blog suggesting that a good amount of the "Mississippi Miracle" is selection bias (holding back lowest performers, who then don't take the 4th grade test) rather than improved learning

Imagine if there was something called the "Dogs Fucking Channel" and millions of American spent hours watching it entirely of their own volition. The way you'd feel about people like that is exactly how you should feel about Fox News viewers.

Duke can now reach levels of ACC previously thought impossible
JMU is ranked!!!! at No. 25.

That means two Group of 5 champions could make the field if 7-5 Duke wins the ACC title game!!!

Will Stein to Kentucky:

a) seems great for both parties;
b) seems perfectly fine for Dan Lanning/Oregon; and
c) will appease the dumbass section of the Ducks fan base that thinks every play should go for a touchdown. Wins all around

Gonna be hilarious if they hire Phil Longo or somebody else

This is how I found out UCLA made a hire, and it is an awesome one but that institution has bigger concerns than whether or not the coach is tactically adept
We know that any hire can succeed or bomb, but based purely on "I see the logic, and I agree," my hire rankings:

1. LSU
2. Virginia Tech
3. Oklahoma St
4. Colorado St
5. Kent St
6. Florida
7. UCLA
8. Auburn
9. Ole Miss
10. Arkansas
11. Stanford
12. Oregon St
13. Michigan St

And the Oregon State job has already been taken. Le sigh.

(Cal Poly is open if he wants to go that route!)
SOURCES: Michigan State is firing head coach Jonathan Smith, @theathletic.com has learned.

He went 9-15 in two seasons, including 1-8 in the Big Ten this year. (ESPN first reported).
