This would single-handedly transform the lives of everyone I know in such profound ways it is difficult to fully articulate, but it would also let us actually make more and different and crazy things
Damn. This is amazing. £325 per week, paid monthly, for 3 years - and the result was a profit for the Irish economy:

Do you think unbending Clippy until he was a long piece of metal would be painful for him. Or do you think it would cause him to feel a great sense of relief

19. "You're overthinking this movie." No, the people who got paid millions to think about the movie underthought it.

Internet surveillance has killed eroticism. We need privacy to reclaim it.

In my 40s, “a woman who has let herself go” begins to sound less like a tragedy and more like a horse who has finally figured out how to open the gate.

This works for fiction too, when you stop forcing conversation on your characters and get to know them well enough to let them respond for themselves.
This from the great Alan Alda. 🙌

I keep coming back to the single-best piece of worldbuilding advice I ever heard, hilariously delivered to a man who was stuck because he hadn't given his hero enough potions to beat the boss: "you're a writer dude, if you need to cast a shadow move a mountain"
The secret to writing is that readers do not actually care about worldbuilding nearly as much as authors think they do.

You know people who get obsessively wiki-brained about media? That only happens when the media has themes, characters, plot points, and emotional stakes they get invested in.
Chose your path, aspiring writer:

-Worldbuilding paralysis where your notes are too full of minutiae to make room for an actual story, which you'll definitely get around to

-Shitpost that sneaks up on you and becomes a novel-length story without any initial planning

If you have a personal Google Account, first go to gemini.google.com/extensions and turn everything off...
