DOGE is not gone, just went a little undercover. But hundreds of thousands of civil servants are gone.
I’m seeing a comment from an OPM official that DOGE is disbanded reported in Reuters get picked up by other outlets, but the only thing that is real is the appropriation logs, don’t say it’s over until it stops being reported here: openomb.org/search?term=...

As a survivor of the Tulsa Race Massacre, Viola Ford Fletcher bravely shared her story so that we’d never forget this painful part of our history. Michelle and I are grateful for her lifelong work to advance civil rights, and send our love to her family.

This is also why the general press reaction to a violent misogynist lying in divorce court about having a brain parasite to humiliate his wife and deny her alimony was “Haha, funny brain worm”
I get that part of the media cycle is for deep thinkers to come up with global Takes on what the Nuzzi outrage means for our culture, but...like, the main thing to me seems to be that she helped whitewash a genocidal eugenicist? who is killing people? right now?

If the Dems had any fuckin’ brains, saying “the part of Epstein is trying to make laws that let them look in your kid’s pants” would be a pretty easy way to crush the Republicans
it’s also a thing where people can be convinced. the right got some people worked up about trans women in sports but possible to get people a lot more worked up about individual/parental rights, genital inspectors, etc
I think Democrats should double down on trans rights now. It's obvious that most voters don't care about it so you might as well stick with your principles and goad Republicans into focusing on it at the expense of everything else so they're the ones who look like freaks.

I cannot imagine what could possibly go wrong in trying to court-martial an astronaut and pilot decorated multiple times for valor and exceptional service, who is also a sitting senator, for correctly making the point that service members are obliged not to follow unlawful orders
Hegseth is now threatening to recall Sen. Mark Kelly to active duty in order to court martial him.

And all the Christians got it wrong,

But you don’t really get the meaning do ya?

‘Cause you see its about getting laid,

It’s sex, and love, and Jewish faith,

But all the gentiles heard was “hallelujah!”

DOGE was always a very thinly disguised con to dress up data theft and extraction class destruction of federal corporate oversight as innovative, and it's important to remember that part of the reason it worked so well is that the press helped legitimize it
hey don't be so hard on yourselves; it delivered oceans of sensitive government and citizen data to billionaires

It remains insane to me that DOGE was treated at the time as an impressive shock and awe accomplishment - “you can’t deny he’s getting stuff done!” - and then instantly memory holed by the press once if became clear it was a total failure by every possible standard including Musk’s own
Difficult to overstate how profound a failure DOGE was. Spending in FY2025 was not only than in FY2024 – but higher than it was projected to be when Trump first took office.*

The little bit of spending DOGE cut has already killed hundreds of thousands and will eventually lead to millions of deaths.
Bye bye, “DOGE”.

It no longer exists as a “centralized entity”, according to the Office of Personnel Management.

the reason 101 dalmations looks like that is because disney incorporated xerography (ie early photocopying technology) into the animation process. rough pencils (by mostly male animators) were copied onto the cels so that disney could fire the (mostly female) inkers. remember that art can lie to you
