It's extremely hard to be an actor, and extremely rare to be a working actor who creates roles so indelible you can recall them with a single word. An artistic life well-led.
Just recently, he was very funny in THE RESIDENCE, one of my favorite shows of the year. Plus THE WIRE, obviously, plus a *lot* of trips to the Law & Order universe, and on and on. A fabulous, versatile presence.

The Professor, our foster dog, is up for adoption but has had zero applications. And I get it, people are busy, but he’s wonderful.
