I got back to my office after the vote last night and recorded this. There's no way to sugarcoat what happened. And my fear is that Trump gets stronger, not weaker, because of this acquiescence. I'm angry - like you. But I choose to keep fighting.

A radiologist friend said you could tell the X-ray pioneers who really did their own research over the ones who hogged credit from people who worked with them. The ones who did their own work died young of cancer, just like Rosalind Franklin

A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Every time the Belgariad comes up - and it's a series that for all its flaws was loved by a LOT of people in its day, including me - SOMEONE ends up being one of the Unlucky 10,000 learning for the first time how horrible the Eddings' were. I don't enjoy that, but I do think it's important to know.
David Eddings has a US Kindle book on sale today, and I won't be getting it for two reasons: first, he's a mediocre writer at best, and everything after the Belgariad didn't even reach that level; and second, he and his wife abused their adopted children so badly they were convicted for it.

Tonight was the inaugural ride of our new home buyout program. We connect with vendors too scared to be out, and we purchase from them at home. Tonight we bought 250 tamales, divided into 3 teams to deliver all over the city to folks on the street, Love Fridges, and a youth shelter.
