Massively frustrating. But Utd could bring on a game changer and seasoned international in Rolfö (alongside Galton) while our only bench attacking options (both unused this game) have played a total of 113 minutes between them all season. Not surprising we didn't keep creating.

Moments like today show exactly why visibility matters. LGBTQI+ fans shouldn’t have to shrink to make others feel comfortable.

Tonight our flag still flies and our community will continue to stand strong. Pride will always have a place at Our stadium and Our Club #COYS

I remember Cuti speaking well about inclusion at the fan forum, this is an opportunity for him to walk the walk and lead the team in making a stand against bigotry. If, of course, the players are even aware that this is happening. They probably aren’t. So cowardly of the club and UEFA to allow this.

For the avoidance of doubt, the flag will still be up in the stadium but not in its usual place where it fits so well

Deeply upsetting that, at a time when putting *up* flags on lampposts and roundabouts is being argued as patriotic, we’re taking ours down to appease racists, homophobes and transphobes 😔

Proud Lilywhites, Tottenham's LGBTQ+ supporters association, says Slavia Prague has asked the club to take down a Progress Flag ahead of tonight's Champions League game over "security concerns"

As the first reply on Reddit says: "Hope our matchgoing fans are extra gay in protest"

If you can't guarantee your fans will behave safely in a stadium, they can't come in the stadium. You don't change the stadium because they can't behave themselves.

Refuse to take the flag down. Tell them to pay for more security or keep their fans at home.

When will Britain’s privately educated elites integrate with the rest of society and stop using making frankly baseless arguments that the problem is Black and brown people and not decades of neoliberal policies that have seen a wealth transfer upwards?

Dismal framing. Every aspect of most asylum seekers’ lives is controlled & paid for by the Home Office. They can’t work, are told where to live & have no autonomy or dignity. So they aren’t *choosing* to use taxis & don’t need to be “banned” from doing so. The HO just needs to get its act in order.
Government to ban asylum seekers from using taxis
The ban is set to come in February and any exemptions will have to be signed off by the Home Office.

The NHS has ALWAYS relied on migrant staff since inception don’t let them pretend otherwise. I am here alive posting for this reason
Every single doctor in my grandad's GP practice founded just after the NHS was either a first or second generation immigrant from the Caribbean, South Asia, or Eastern Europe.

my british grandparents (born 1903) welcomed a Black caribbean migrant as their daughter in law
In 1971, 1 in 3 NHS doctors were overseas born

Given the avg patient age, those born in the 1890s were quite likely to meet a migrant doctor

Whatever some commentators born in the 60s/70s/80s say, most ppl (incl their grandparents) regularly & positively interacted w/migrants their entire lives

And the folks who are actually writing full-time generally only got there after years of day jobs, family support, or both.

The point of sharing this is not to demoralize anyone, but to let emerging writers know they're not failing if they can't make a living off writing alone. Almost no one can.
almost every novelist you read who's not from the airport fiction or bestseller sections is working a full on day job, including multi-award winners and absolute legends, or they have a spouse or trust that supports them. virtually across the board. just normalize in your mind that's how it works.
I know we know this, but authors need to get better at talking about how they actually make their money. Stop pretending it's from the books.
