Peter Mandelson is telling the truth on one thing: the idea he was bought for a $4k “bursary” or a $75k gift is ridiculous

The real incentive was a post-government payday - one so big he *rejected* a $3–5m-a-year offer

And Epstein enabled that payday

Here’s the evidence. 🧵

The payback was far greater than $10,000 of osteopathy tuition fees – it was Mr Mandelson’s subsequent highly lucrative career, which was enabled and assisted by Jeffrey Epstein and his network of contacts.

Peter Mandelson wasn’t bribed by Jeffrey Epstein, and certainly wasn’t blackmailed by him. We believe the evidence suggests that Mr Mandelson provided intelligence and lobbying because he thought it was in his own commercial interest. He was correct.

The last 50 years have seen a never-ending experiment in attacking broadly universal provision of services, funded through general taxation, and replacement with piecemeal private provision, means testing, and an incredible increase in complexity. The results speak for themselves.
Great to see that debate over Britain’s iniquitous student loan scheme finally rising up the agenda. I wrote about this in one of my last columns at @thetimes.com. At the time, there was zero interest at the paper which instead preferred to attack massively indebted junior doctors for striking

the problem for transphobes is that at this point nearly everyone has met or at least interacted with a trans person and figured out that they're just people trying to live their lives. this is why they want to ban trans people from existing in public at all costs
11% of Britons say they feel 'very negatively' about trans people which just highlights how much this is a top-down hate project with around 95% of the media hating trans people and a high percentage of MPs.
Hello. I’m a “same-sex attracted person” (loathe that description of my sexuality) & I support Trans rights, like the majority of female “same sex attracted people”.
