I’m not a Trekkie but I’ve done enough basic research into the Star Trek fandom to know women basically invented it, and are why the show even continued to exist. This kind of writing is part of institutional sexism that denies women’s accomplishments and role in history and it infuriates me
okay grandpa, let's get you to bed

This is it. I didn’t find it at all difficult to leave Twitter in the end: it stopped being fun and became boring and depressing. Whenever I opened it I’d see things that were obnoxious or upsetting. It was a relief not to do that.
This is an exact encapsulation of why I moved to Bluesky.

No amount of handwringing in the Atlantic about how I owe some eternal Promethean suffering to the discourse is going to make me stay on a site I hate, that stopped doing anything for me professionally years ago.

When ChatGPT first took off this was the use case that confused me the most. People said they “only” used it to write “first drafts.” That’s the most important draft! That’s the thinking part!
Scoop: Business Insider informed its staff this week that they are allowed to use ChatGPT to generate first drafts of their stories, while also indicating the newsroom will not disclose such A.I. use to readers.

Business Insider and the Bots
The Axel Springer-owned newsroom is buzzing over new ChatGPT writing guidelines—part of an aggressive A.I. strategy pushed by its German parentco and detailed in a memo obtained by Status.

Bottle grotto at Westonbury Mill gardens, a modern folly made by hydrogeologist Richard Pim who created the gardens. Other follies include a water-powered cuckoo clock & a water wheel & tower which spurts water from gargoyles mouths. Sadly he died last year but the gardens survive under new owners.

Really, really, really liked #Thunderbolts. Every moment the camera is on Florence Pugh is a revelation, she is heart and soul of an equally magnificent cast. Has fun moments, but the true gravity lies with the void at the center. Laughter, action and tears - great turnout.
