Trump causes the problem and then demands the Insurrection Act as a solution to the crisis of his own making which then leads to more conflict. I believe psychiatrists refer to this phenomenon "Munchausen by Nazi." www.childrensmn.org/educationmat...
The Sinister Reason Trump Is Itching to Invoke the Insurrection Act
An authoritarian’s dream, the Insurrection Act is ripe for abuse — and Trump’s Cabinet is already setting up his justification to use it.

In '56, Hungarians rose with CIA hawks promising them promising "rollback.". Eisenhower would not risk WWIII. The Kurds were encouraged similarly but Bush held back. And now Trump, promises all, delivering nothing.

We can praise when people rise up. What we can't do is promise what isn't coming.

“dont have enough men” is a reason you give for why the men you’ve deployed aren’t shutting down all federal operations

it makes no sense to say it when the number of men you’ve ordered to protect people is zero

I just watched the Minneapolis Police deploy tear gas in a Minneapolis neighborhood to help extract ICE from the scene. Bullshit he doesn't have enough men, they are actively helping ICE.

/2 This will be grotesque. Edward R. Murrow didn’t have a radio show in 1946 where Eisenhower debated Göring about whether the Nazis had some good points. Today’s media would absolutely do that. Today’s media will platform people defending and rewriting Good’s murder for years.

rw press is using the fact that the shooter, an immigration officer, is married to a much younger recent Filipino immigrant whom he apparently met in the Phillipines as proof that he is not a racist. that is not what i would determine from that fact pattern. i would FOIA 911 calls at his address.

The first time I learned about Hakeem Jeffries was when he cofounded Team Blue, a PAC designed to shield incumbent Democrats from primary challengers. He's built a career around protecting the status quo, refusing to take any risks. He's a stuffed shirt and a coward.
Jeffries dodged when multiple reporter, myself included, ask about using appropriations to rein in ICE

Wow, when even @nytimes.com has to admit that an ICE agent murdered a U.S. citizen (after spending a day running with craven headlines like "Video is political Rorschach test"), that's a thing.

Also noted: ICE agents tampered with the crime scene.

The Minnesota woman who died today was apparently a mother. Someone close to the family and who has access to a lawyer should help set up GoFundMe. IMO, the money should go directly into a trust, which should go directly to the child when they are 18 years old, not an intermediary family member.

Apparently the Democratic strategy memo went out, and it says there's too much criticism of Trump threatening longtime US allies, ruining America's most valuable alliance, and making the US a global villain in direct contrast to the image most Americans hold. Stop objecting or trying to prevent it.
The White House is laser focused on threatening a military takeover of Greenland.

Where’s the same focus on lowering costs?

The FBI sniper at Ruby Ridge was prosecuted by Idaho. The federal district court initially dismissed the charges but was overruled by the Ninth Circuit, allowing it to proceed. The case only ended when a new district attorney was elected and decided to drop it.
Remember: Federal officials do not enjoy categorical, absolute immunity from state-level prosecutions. They are entitled to removal to federal court. But conduct that is unreasonable or unnecessary for the execution of their law enforcement duties is susceptible to criminal prosecution.

Yeah, no danger to the officer here. He literally steps out of the way with ease, while also murdering the driver.

Not enough danger to even distract him enough to miss.

The reason there are observers is so that they'll have video to prove it when the authorities try to bullshit everyone.

However, that's also the reason the authorities are shooting observers.
Mayor Jacob Frey: "They are already trying to spin this as an action of self defense. Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly that is bullshit."
