Oct 9th - Former Chief Inspector Charles Dreyfus, using Professor Hugo Fassbender's doomsday weapon, disintegrates the United Nations headquarters. He then blackmails the President into having Inspector Clouseau assassinated.

📽️📅 The Pink Panther Strikes Again (1976)
4 Screenshots from the movie "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" (1976): First, a close-up of a man on a vintage television screen with subtitles reading "On Saturday, October 9th the United Nations building." Second, a continuation of the television scene with the man saying "will vanish from the face of the earth." Third, a futuristic control room with a large laser device pointing out a window towards mountains, people observing the scene. Fourth, a cityscape with a laser beam emitting a bright pink light over the skyline.

Samuel Beckett is *cackling* in his grave. 😈

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

This intro (from a Guardian piece) contains two of the most overused words in the English language: "nestled" and "quintessentially". They're words people use when they CBA to spend a millisecond thinking of a better word. I delete them on sight from copy I edit.

And finally this. Mark trying to patch things up with his dad on his death bed. That last panel. Lyrical genius.

New Viz in the shops today. And there's "shy bladder" shenanigans with former president of France General Charles de Gaulle, in 'De Gaulle Bladder"
Panel from a comic strip in which General Charles de Gaulle (1890-1970) is desperate for a wee but can't go when people are watching. De Gaulle may or may not have suffered from this - probably not - but he's dead anyway, so he's not going to sue.

At 2:30am I woke up thinking I must write a cartoon called "Art Garfunkel's Fart Carbuncle" and submit it to Viz and of course I'm never going to. But yeah, Art has built this carbuncle and filled it with farts, and is trying to lure Paul Simon as punishment for erasing him from the 83 reunion LP.

There's a new issue (Viz 350) in the shops. Sorry no refunds.
A post plugging the new issue of Viz (which, as we say, is in the shops today). A Top Tip reading as follows ... a-hem ... and here it is ... "Save money on whoopee cushions by farting loudly at dinner parties. Tim Steel, Hornchurch."

Wild that she got squeezed from the article and the guy who prominently advocates for incest didn’t. I wonder what she did.

Had a skim through this and there’s an odd thing going on here where the woman on the right doesn’t show up in the article at all? She’s not even in the header of the article itself?
