Jumping on the back of the CIE bus, through the corner, while it was moving.
Without revealing your actual age, what's something you remember that if you told a younger person they wouldn't understand?

The Spanish version is “the left liberates, the right oppresses” and once I learned that, both screws and politics made more sense

Here's the ICE agent "defending himself" by shooting into the driver's side window of a car that's pulling *away* from him.

Put this photo on the front page of every newspaper in America.

I didn't want to see this, but when I heard the narrative that she had committed 'domestic terrorism' I watched it. America is a deeply deeply troubled country, and as such, so is our world. Fucking hell.
This is the video.

For the 40th (?) successive quarter Corporate Tax intake was far higher than expected- but will certainly end imminently, and for the 40th (?) successive quarter Homelessness has increased but fingers crossed will sort itself out any day now.

Too many to mention but special shout out to 10yr old me breaking my arm and two ribs running into the net post while playing tennis. Cycled home. Also kudos to the concussion and HUGE bump on my head I got running into the automatic doors in Dublin Airport.
What's the most ridiculous way you ever hurt yourself? I got out of the tub, skidded in water and tripped over the toilet. Ankle sprain.

😅

To all those saying "but if our government spoke out, there might be consequences", please remember that not speaking out also has consequences. The history of appeasement is not a reassuring one.

I don't recall off hand who made the point about AI being, more than anything else, a machine for displacing responsibility. That increasingly looks like its most reliable feature
This is a thread of major media outlets falsely anthropomorphising the "Grok" chatbot program and in doing so, actively and directly removing responsibility and accountability from individual people working at X who created a child pornography generator (Elon Musk, Nikita Bier etc)

Gentle reminder that 'child pornography' is not the preferred phrase. They are images of the sexual abuse of children or indecent images of children.

Harris and O'Callaghan are dog whistling populists of the highest order. Horrible.
Sorry but we literally debunked this like last month when he did this dog whistle. Fintan O'Toole literally did the maths, in the Times no less, that showed that this isn't true.

Why are we bothering to publish such an obvious lie when we know it's a lie?

He didn't even deliver a genuine, bona fide
electrified, six-car monorail.
Elon Musk promised a lot of things by 2025

- colonists arriving on Mars
- xAI achieving AGI
- Tesla robotaxis serving half the U.S.
- completely driverless robotaxis
- a Tesla Roadster demo
- DOGE cutting trillions

none of them happened

Everything Elon Musk promised in 2025, but didn't deliver
Musk is now infamous for his false promises, but even this is excessive.

Just watched It's A Wonderful Life for probably the 15th time. Never tire of the traditional Christmas message that the struggle against rapacious capitalism is eternal and the solution is working together with your friends and family and not being the atomised worker only helping themselves.
