Is this basically the bisexual equivilant of "transgender is a western word, use [COUNTRY'S SLUR FOR TRANS PEOPLE] instead"? Genuinely asking this as I don't really know much about the author (other than finding out that they are non-binary through searching about them a bit).

Shiri Eisner taking the brave "anti gay marriage" stance because "marriage is patriarchal" is clue eough that they absolutely do not engage with the real-life material effects of queerness or queer history. Their activism is, at its core, just whining about gays and lesbians.

this should be te actual takeaway tbh. the idea of wanting american mainstream comics to be more like manga or more like tv or whatever is directionally not wrong but that also means structuring the work accordingly
I agree with the arguments going around that emulating manga workloads/production schedules is not a good idea, I think many people fail to realize that popular manga artists often have large teams of assistants to help them accomplish the astronomic output. They're not doing it by themselves.

When national parks become unkempt and closed due to staffing issues, Trump Inc. will propose they be privatized, much like how everything "public" was sold to oligarchs after the fall of the Soviet Union. I'd imagine some of the same people will be buying.
