The common problem with both is that the main story of the universe has already been told, and now they're trying to retrospectively raise the stakes and majesty of what is inherently a secondary story.
The first Fantastic Beasts movie is a lot like the first Hobbit to me in that there’s a lot of “well ok this is ultimately not very good but you can sort of see how there’s the bones of something here and maybe the sequel can salvage it?” and then a sequel is just absolute shite

HHS is trying to force Seattle Children's into doing a Sophie's choice of abandoning trans youth or see kids with cancer or other serious illness have their coverage and care disrupted. That's what this is about.
