bankers claiming crowns? get in losers, we're renaissance italymaxxing
Actually, Carney could just claim the Crown, because he was Governor of the Bank of England as direct lineal successor to King.
Is Carney allowed to be PM of both Canada and the UK simultaneously

"They mimic without understanding."

Yes, 100%.
All of this to say, I believe we will win. The regime is flailing around in its hopeless efforts to effectuate their half-baked policy ideas.

They are cosplaying at dictatorship the same way they cosplay at manliness. They mimic without understanding.
It would appear that the administration is experiencing (learning is too strong of a word) something very similar to the governments of people bombed in WW2. That is, that a people under siege tend to have higher collective morale & sense of community during the "war" than those that aren't attacked

Very much this. I do feel the need to defend the Paradox games because they at least try to model and demonstrate the friction and overall messiness. The question is that can you design strategy game without any "grand strategy"?

Siksi olennaisin kysymys ei ole, haluammeko maksaa paljon veroja, kukaan ei halua, vaan se, mitä verotetaan. Jäljelle jää aika yksinkertainen kysymys;

Mikä haittaa taloutta vähiten: perityn omaisuuden verottaminen, työn verottaminen vai kulutuksen verottaminen? 11/11

My colleague pointed out that this is just the latest example of the Republican hatred of public databases. Gingrich killed the Congressional Research Service Country Reports and the Office of Technology Assessment. DOGE destroyed not just USAID, but also its database, DEC.

Facts, data, info. Gone.

This is 100% perjury. The idea that the Treasury Secretary doesn't know anything about one of the most important figures in crypto facilitating a giant bribe to Trump and then getting pardoned is laughable. He would literally be the only person in the finance world who didn't know about it.
KIM: When Binance founder Zhao pleaded guilty to violating money laundering laws & was sent to prison, Binance injected billions into Trump's business & Zhao was pardoned. Is that a conflict?

BESSENT: I'm unfamiliar with any of that

KIM: Is it a conflict?

BESSENT: Again, I'm not going to respond
